This is an UPDATE

At this time I can only get-

one of two different Blogs I tried to partially work.

It is supposed to be a FREE Service.
Attempt # 1 has been going on over a week now and I cannot even get the Password to accept, even though I am registered and I changed the password as an attempt to fix the problem.

URGENT NOTICE to my Google Friend Connect Followers:
==>Attempt # 2 today on a different Blog the password worked, and it appears that the 'Keywords' partially respond, this is probably more of a Google Search Engine thing.
As for the 'Unfollow Blog' portion, this REMOVED ALL of My Blog Followers.
That's a real problem.
Now I have to ADD back all my Followers, so if you see I stopped Following you, it was not on purpose, and I will re-add those who are currently following me - please be patient, this will take awhile.

At this moment, the answer is Do Not Use Auto-Blogging.
They have an online chat but its never working so I will try tomorrow to resolve these issues.

I suggested using Blogorator. For awhile this worked well. Then several people last week complained it failed to work and Blogorator lost their files. This also happened on my Blog, Blogs I am Following, and Blogorator failed to fix the issue after 5-days even though I notified them.
Note: It is important to remember that these 'Widgets' may not keep up with the latest technology by Blogs such as Google, Wordpress, etc. They are Third Party Program Designs.
Originally I selected this Rating System because it worked on both Blogs and Websites and rated the over all page (Blog or Site) versus the individual posting.
I am no longer endorsing Blogorator.
Website Users, Designers, Programmers, Administrators, and Blog Owners should avoid installing the Widget from Blogorator.

Before Starting please note that this Widget does not work on Websites / Web Pages.
If after registering the Widget and you are unable to go to 'Setting's to remove the 'Recommendations' remove the Widget from your Blog, sign-out and try installing the Widget later on.

Follow these step by step instructions.
Note - Pay close attention, don't miss any steps.
Open the following and leave open till finished:
- Your email account for your Blog.
- Open Outbrain Website.
- When Outbrain loads your Blog, leave that open as well.

Step # 1:
You are at the 'Outbrain' Homepage. In the upper right corner, click on 'Register.'

Step # 2:
Once you click on register 'Outbrain' you will get a new window. Fill in the required information.

Sign-in to your Blog Account, shown here is Google...

After signing into your Blog, you will see this....

Step # 5:
Here all I did was 'Change' the title, I recommend you do this, but it is not necessary.
Leave the other settings alone, just click on 'Add Widget.'

If you have a Google Blog (blogspot) 'Outbrain' set-up will take you to this location in Layouts. If you have a different type of Blog such as Wordpress it should take you to something similar. Just simply ignore this, and go to your Blog's main display page.

Step # 7:
Initial installation produces this. The following steps will remove all the links beneath your Blog Rating. If you want these here, Stop, do not proceed any further. I recommend, you not have these on your Blog Postings, and continue with the complete set-up of the 'Outbrain Rating System.'
Note: I have blacked out those that appeared on my Blog.

Respond to Outbrain in your email and verify your 'outbrain' account....

In this step you will see a message that looks like this...

In this step you should get a message that Outbrain has verified your email. Click on the setting, 'Manage Blogs', to the upper left to continue....

In this step you should see your Blog's URL Address.
Next to the URL you should see, 'Settings' click on it.

Change the 'Settings' exactly as shown.

When the Widget has been installed, and the setting changed, the 'Rating' should now look like this...

After you have completed installing the widget go back to your email, and there should be an explanation of how the Rating System works, part will look like this...

Now sign out of-
Outbrain.
Your Blog.
Your Email Account.
View your Blog without signing in.
Test the Rating System.
Refresh your page, look and see if the rating worked on your Blog.

If you have multiple Blogs under on email account, you can sign back into 'Outbrain' and select the ones that you want added to have a Rating applied. Remember, this Rating Widget (gadget) rates each individual Posting, not the entire Blog.

Google Blogging Tip # 100: Google Blogs, Substituting a Picture for the Title on a Post

Q) I have tried repeatedly to add an HTML Code within the 'Title' bar of Google blogspot Blog 'New Post' and cannot get it to work. I want to substitute a Picture for the Title on my Post. I have seen this done on other blogs.
How do you do this?

A) Google blocks the use of HTML and JavaScript within its Title Block for Posts. To avoid using the Layout, and 'Edit HTML' function, there is a simple way to accomplish this. Just don't use the 'Title Bar' at all. Also, do not use the Link Bar if you have it enabled.
Place your picture at the top of the empty block where you would add any text, pictures, or video. I believe this will accomplish what you are trying to do. I recommend the picture image be 375 pixels wide x 55 pixels high.

Google Blogging Tip # 99: How to Perform Maintenance on Your Twitter Page

Q) My Twitter Page is a mess. I am Following more people than are Following Me. How can I clean up my Twitter Page and get rid of all the dead beats to make room for legitimate Followers I want to add?

A) Twitter makes this quite hard for their users. First at the moment as a Twitter Page user you are only allowed to have 2,001 Tweets you can follow. However, there is no limit to the number of people who can follow you.
Fortunately, there are some third party software providers that can clean up your Twitter Page account. I experimented with two. One didn't work for me at all.
I found that using Tweepi is the best approach.

Just click on the Link and it will take you to the Tweepi Page.
First I have laid out a step by step illustration to walk you through how to use Tweepi and what each step will look like till you're finished.
If you have a high number of people you are following on your Twitter Page, say between 1,500 to 2,000 this process may take about an hour to complete. So allow enough time.

First sign-in to your Twitter Page and see how many people your are Following and how many people are Following you.

This is Tweepi main page. Slect 'FLUSH.'

Note: Once in do not use any of the option or settings other than what is shown in the pictures below.

This will take you to the Tweepi Flush Page.

You will get this next widow...
From here you must sign-in to your Twitter Account.

You are now connected to Tweepi Clean-up and your Twitter Page.
When getting started with Tweepi clean-up, which they call Flush, make sure you allow the blue bar to load all the way.
Just above the Blur Bar you will see the number of Followers you need to get rid of. Then the column to the far right, under 'Friend' you will see 'You're Following User.' At the top far right column, check the box 'Follow' all the boxes under 'Follow' should have a check mark. Next simply go to the bottom of the page and click on 'UNFOLLOW.' At this point, by default you will be loading 20 Followers at a time. If you click on the bottom box 'Tweet This' Tweepi will load 40 Followers at a time. It will put a tweet on your Twitter Page automatically but it saves a lot of time.

Here Tweepi is processing getting rid of the pages you no longer want to follow. Do NOT interrupt the process.

Tweepi has 'Unfollowed' those unwanted Tweets. Remember this has to be done repeatedly of 40 Twitter Followers per Tweepi page until completed. Use the 'Next' page function and Tweepi loads it automatically. Again wait for the Blue Bar to load all the way, and check Follow on ALL. Then UNFOLLOW to get rid of them. Just keep doing this until Tweepi has cleaned up your Twitter Page.

How your Twitter Page should look when you are done cleaning it up with Tweepi.

Important Note:
I suggest running Tweepi once per month to clean up your Twitter Page.

Google Blogging Tip # 98: How to Create a Google Only Blog Profile

Q) Can you tell me how to create a Google 'Profile' without creating a Google Blog?

A) To create a Google 'Profile' simply follow the steps below.
The Google 'Profile' can be used for several reasons:
1) To reserve a name. The Blog can be added later.
2) So you can Follow someone who all ready has a Google Blog using Google Friends Connect.

To create a Google only 'PROFILE' please follow these steps:

1/ - If you do not all ready have an email account create one. You will need an email address. If you don't have an email address or want a separate email just for your 'Google Profile' then Gmail or Yahoo are probably the best options but there are others such as myway; msn; live; and hotmail.

2/ - Write down the name you want to use for your Profile, example: blogsfollowme. I would recommend using this for the Blog Title as well.

3/ - Go to the following Google Link-
Create A Blog

4/ - The following window appears, see picture below:
Fill in all the required information.
When finished click on 'Continue.'

5/ - You will get another page. This is the page that you will create a 'Profile Only.'
Fill in the two required items, then click on 'skip this and create a blog later.'

6/ - This will take you to the final page.
If you want you can click on Edit Profile, Add a Profile Picture or just sign out.
Then open your email account. Google will have a confirmation email, click on it, sign back into your Profile, then sign out.
You are done.

How to use your PROFILE:
Anytime you wish to Follow someone, like me, The Blog Guy, just click on the 'follow' button just above 'Followers. Sign in with your email account and password and follow that Blog or Google Friends Connect on a website.

Spammers are getting smarter. They are using automated robots to search Google Blogs that have open comment settings.

Google Blogging Tip # 95: How to Schedule an Automatic Post for your Google Blog in advance

Q) Please tell me how I can schedule a POST for my Google Blog in advance?

A) On Google blogspot Blogs, this is very easy to do, just follow the 4-steps below shown in the pictures.

Step # 1 -
Sign-in to your Google Blog.
Go to Posting, New Post.
Under 'Post Options' click and the full box opens.

Step # 2 -
Once the box opens, simply 'CHANGE' the Date and Time to when you want your POST to be published. Yes you can select the post for later the same day; or for a different day and time.

Step # 3 -
After completing your POST: Picture, Text, Video, etc. just click on 'Publish Post.'
Note - Don't forget to give your Post a 'Title.'
Also, if you are using 'Labels' insert them now.

Step # 4 -
After you have completed the posting open up 'Edit Post' and make sure your Scheduled Post appears.
It should look like the picture below.
Then sign out of your Google Blog and on the date and time you set your scheduled post will automatically be posted to your blog without any additional effort or requirements by you.

Google Blogging Tip # 94: Resolving Google Blog Issues with Post Editor

Q) Google Blog has two Post Edits found under 'Settings'; one is the 'Old' format and the other is 'New' format. Can you tell me how to upload movies from my desktop or computer file folder using the NEW Post Edit Format?

A) Explanation for Problem-
If you have a Google blogspot Blog and it is more than year a old you probably haven't even noticed that Google offers two settings for the Post Edit function (Adding a New Post to your Google Blog). New Blog owners will notice because some templates default to the 'New' format shown as Updated Editor, under Settings, at 'Select Post Editor.' Anyone can update their Blog to the new setting.
The problem with the 'New' Post Editor the functions are more like something you find in a Word Text file such as Microsoft Word. They do have a place to upload pictures, same as the old format. The problem is they have omitted the Icon Function to upload a movie / video. You can still copy and paste online videos such as YouTube, LiveLeak, etc. You can also link to a video post online and the video will function, but if the link is removed or lost the video on your blog is gone.
Google is still developing this New Format, but they have to be aware that the Icon for uploading a Video is not there.
My guess is that they omitted it on purpose. There can be several reasons for this, among them are:
1) Google doesn't want to be involved with someone uploading property that belongs to someone else, even though videos usually embed their owner's name and URL Address so credit s given.
2) Bandwith and data storage are the main reasons I am sure. Videos take up a lot of storage space and with millions of Google Bloggers all over the world, this becomes very costly. Remember your Blog is Free!
3) Google owns YouTube and wants t promote its use.

Solving the Problem-
In the interim, use the old editor (original) Post Edit Format if you upload videos from your computer. You can switch back and forth for now between editor formats.
If your video/movie is an original, then upload it to YouTube or another service similar to YouTube like LiveLeak.
Eventually Google will have to make a determination to either add a video icon for uploads or not, but the new Post Editor Format will become the norm with no option.
For long term, if you do not want to create a YouTube like video, then you may have to use another Blog or Social Network that allows video uploads.

Google Blogging Tip # 92: Adding a Social Community to Your Blog or Website

Q) Is there an alternate for Google Friends Connect that I can add to my Blog or Website?

A) I have added The BlogFrog as an additional social community to one of my Google Blogs. Try this as one option, it's easy to install and use. It seems to work well as a supplement to Google Friends Connect. You can have more than one Social Community Network on a Blog or Website.
Click on the LINK to start the installation of The BlogFrog:

When you go to The BlogFrog Website you get a page that looks like this.
Just select 'Sign Up.'

Once you click on 'Sign Up' this pop-up window appears. Here add a valid email address, your name (no spaces) - I used 'theblogguy', then create a password (write in down, you will need it later on).
Then just click 'Done.'

Next - you get a new pop-up window that looks like this.
At this Step, you ADD whatever Blog or Website URL Address you want BlogFrog to be installed on.
If you have Twitter and Facebook you can add them as well.
I chose only to use my Google blogspot address: http://blogsiamfollowing.blogspot.com/

Another new pop-up window appears....
When you get here, your almost done setting up BlogFrog. Just continue to the install.

At this step, you may want to use the default codes, you can change these later.
There are two ways to install BlogFrog, I chose the one on the left. I would copy and paste both codes into a word text file so you can opt out of one and replace it with another later if you would like.

Now Copy and Paste the code into your Blog or Website.
For Google Blogs, Follow these steps:
1. Sign-in to your Google Blog.
2. Go to 'Layout.'
3. Select 'Add a Gadget.'
4. Select 'HTML / JavaScript.'
5. Copy and Paste the BlogFrog Code.
6. Save, view your Blog. Then go back to Gadgets and move your BlogFrog Community to the desired location on your Blog sidebar.

For Websites, Copy and Paste the JavaScript Code from BlogFrog and place it where you want your new community to appear on your web page. This goes between the BODY and /BODY.

After you install BlogFrog, and move it to the desired location on your Blog sidebar or within your Website, this is how it will look. You can then invite others to join your community or they cam add you to theirs.

Here is an example of of how it should look on a Google Blog when you are done.

Q) On your other Blog - Blogs I am Following you posted on November 3, 2009 a response to a different Bloggers Question concerning 'How to Get The Multi Music Player Jukebox' to play only one song at a time, and allow the music player to be used more than once on a Google Blog. I understand why it wont work but but I am having problems with the code. I am sure it's me, so could you just please issue the entire code / script you want me to use?
Note: I made all the other changes to my Blog you indicated.

Installing a Single Music Player

To Install this JavaScript on a Google Blog, follow these steps:
1) Sign-in to your Google Blog
2) From Post or Dashboard go to 'Settings'
3) Select 'Formatting'
4) Change the first line, 'show' to '1' post only (see the pictures below)
5) Save
6) Go to POST, copy and paste The Blog Guy's Music Song Player File JavaScript Code, change the player using a complete URL address.
7) In the event you want to use only one player file, and it is not a Midi (.mid) sound file you will have to apply the extension...example: .wav -or- .mp3
Note: This player plays most Midi, Wav, and mp3 sound files
If you want to play only mp3 files then use the player shown on Google Tip # 55.

First, Blogs are a form of social networking. Many people use them in an attempt to sell a product or service. The best way to do this is get a .com domain name and a website. The Blog should only be used to augment your Website. For reasons covered in my previous Blog Tips such as Google Blogging Tip # 75: Ten (10) Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Myths and Facts for Blogs, Part 1.

Next, If you Follow one of my many Blogs, I in turn follow yours. As a courtesy I add all your Blogs listed under your Profile called 'My Blogs.' Next, Following People is a way to get your Blog Noticed and when you reciprocate then this adds to both Bloggers Ratings with Google. Note for this to work, both must follow each other.

Next, Please report any down Links or Blogs removed by Google, or Blogs that change status such as requiring someone to sign-in to view the Blog. These will be removed from my LINKS and Blog Roll List. Just send me an email at:

Simply leave me a comment on the latest post and I will handle it.

Next, If you don't want anyone Following your Blog, then remove FOLLOWERS by simply -
Sign-in to your Blog.
Go to View Blog.
Look for Followers.
Look for the * just below Followers.
Click on the *
You will get a pop-up window.
Simply click on REMOVE.

Next, If you want to STOP someone from Following your Blog, then follow these steps-
Sign-in to your Blog.
You should be at the Dashboard.
Go to the bottom of the page, click on 'Manage.'
Find the Blog you want to remove.
Click on 'Settings.'
Click on 'Stop Following.'
Save / Done.
Wait for the Blog to recycle and come back to your LIST of Blogs you are following.
Then proceed to the next Blog if there are more than one or just go to the top of the page and click on 'Dashboard.'

Next, if you were Following one of my Blogs and no longer want your blog listed then send me an email. This email MUST include the name of the Blog and complete URL Address. It must also state which Blog it is on. Please include how it is listed (by name/description) if it appears on anyone of of The Blog Guy's Blog Roll List and/or in the LINKS. Without this I just don't have the time to search them out. As for Followers you may have noticed Google has been experiencing intermittent problems with Followers. So I may appear on your Blog but you may not appear on mine. If you remove or block a Blog it should catch up to the blogger following you in a couple of days.

Finally, as stated previously, I am going through all my Blogs and checking my Followers. This will take some time. But if you are listed in my Links or Blog Rolls and are no longer Following me, then you will be removed. Sorry about that, but as stated, Followers really only work when each party participates and reciprocates.

Google Blogging Tip # 81: Removing The Navbar From Your Google Blog

Q) - How do I get rid of that annoying Bar at the Top of my Google Blog?

A) - You have to change your Blog's HTML Code to get rid of the Google Navigation (Nav) Bar. It is quite simple to do, but make very sure you follow the instructions carefully.

Removing The Navbar From Your Google Blog

Steps:
1) Sign-in to your Google Blog Account.
2) Select 'Layout.'
3) Select 'Edit HTML.'
4) This takes you to a new page. Near the top you will see, Backup / Restore Template.
Select 'Download Full Template.' This will copy your HTML Code to your dashboard. Keep this if something happens, you will need this to restore all your original settings.
5) Page down till you find /HEAD.
6) Click on the LINK to The Blog Guy's Web Page. Copy and Paste the code directly above /HEAD.
7) Go to the bottom of the page. Save Template.
8) Preview.
9) If correct, close out 'Preview.'
10) Go to your main Blog page. Refresh the page.
11) The Google Top Bar should be gone.

Q) I read your Google Tip on adding animation files, but how do you ADD Animation Files from your FREE website storage to either a Google Blog or a Web Page?

A) In Google Tip # 40, this refers to a third party such as Photobucket. At the time I wrote that Blog and Website Tip I did not offer FREE Online Storage of Animation Files (.gif), Flash Files (.swf), Midi Sound Files (.mid), and Wav Files (wav). The code you need to use is on The Blog Guy's Web Page. I have now included an explanation below how to use the code to install an 'Animation (.gif) File on either your Google Blog or any Website (Web Page).

There are many websites that talk about how to change or use Meta Tags within Google Blogs. For the most part none of these work because Google has gone through many updates and controls most of the changes needed. Meta Tags are a key factor in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Read More on this at Google Blogging Tip # 75.

How to use this work around fix for Meta Tags on Blogs:
Steps-
1) Sign-in to your Blog.
2) On your most recent post, copy the paste the code, Preferred Method, on The Blog Guy's website link, found below. It goes just under the last entry of the post (text, picture, video).
3) Or, Use the option (Acceptable Method), if you prefer this method. For Google Blogs either choose the Header under setting, under basic, description - paste here; or use the add a gadget under layout and choose HTML/JavaScript. Either or just copy and paste the code.
Note: The first Option, the preferred method is best but you'll have to decide for your Blog. The preferred method requires you do it every time you make a NEW Post. The Option method is a one time copy and paste.
There are some samples on The Blog Guy's Website Link that will help you decide which method is best for you.
4) In choosing either method (Code) remember to CHANGE the items in RED to your Blog Name and URL Address.

Google Blogging Tip # 74: Add a Twitter Counter to Your Blog or Site

Q) Is there a Gadget that Interfaces directly with Twitter and a Blog or Website, and allows a person to Follow a Twitter User?

A) Yes. It's called the 'Twitter Counter.' It also tracks your Twitter Stats (statistics).

Please review the following picture images so you know the STEPS in ADDING the 'Twitter Counter' to your Blog, Social Network, or Website.
The website LINK to add Twitter Counter to your site is located just after the following picture images:

Step # 1: Go to Twitter Counters Website Page.
Click where you see the arrow in the picture below.

Step # 2: You get a NEW pop-up window.
Enter your Twitter Page Name. Example: Bloggingnow
Enter your password - this is the same password you use to sign-into your Twitter Account.
Click on 'Allow.' See picture below.

Step # 3: You will get a NEW pop-up window.
Check the Boxes as shown in the following 3-picture images.
Important: Save all the areas requested even if you didn't check the box.
In the 3rd picture your will see -
Put a TwitterRemote on your site - just below that CLICK on 'customize this widget.'

Step # 4: A NEW pop-up window appears.
This is the settings for how your Widget will work.
Use the default settings if you're not sure what you want. You can go back and change the settings later.
If the JavaScript Code does not appear in the window, click on 'Create Preview and Code.'
If the script is there Copy and Paste this into your Blog, Social Network, or Website (Web Page).

For Google Blogs -
Steps:
1. Sign-in to Your Google Blog
2. Go to 'Layouts.'
3. Select, 'Page Elements.'
4. Select, 'Add a Gadget.'
5. Select, 'HTML/JavaScript.'
6. Copy and Paste the JavaScript Code from the Twitter Counter set-up page.
Save, View Blog.
Move Twitter Counter to desired location.

For Websites / Web Pages -
Copy and Paste the code between BODY and /BODY.

Step # 5: To see how it looks and works on a Google Blog look at the right sidebar column, near bottom of this page.
The following three picture images show the THREE Twitter Gadgets working on a Google Blog that I have discussed on -The Blog Guy's- Google Blogging Tips, Tricks, Hints, HTML Codes, and JavaScripts.
If it is working properly sign-out of Twitter Counter.

Step # 6: Next, TEST it - to test Twitter Counter ....
Next to your Twitter Page Icon inside Twitter Counter at the top, you will see 'follow.'
Click on FOLLOW.
You will see a familiar pop-up window, again put in your required field information.
See the picture below.

Step # 7: Go back to the Twitter Counter Home Page.
On the Top Right Side you will see...
show twitter statistics for
Enter your Twitter Page Account Name, example: bloggingnow
Now to the left you will see a big graph and cart, that is your stats for Twitter.
At the bottom of the page you will see some recommendations, for right now ignore these.
To the right and bottom you will see your Twitter Counter Widget.
You can go here anytime you want to check on your Twitter performance statistics.

Google Blogging Tip # 73: Adding Twitter Logos (icons)

It is simple to ADD a variety of Twitter Logos (Icons) to your Blog, Social Network, or Website.
These twitter Icons hosted by The Blog Guy are complete with a clickable LINK to your Twitter Page.
There are six icons to choose from. The Icon Logo Picture is above the HTML Code, just select the one you wish to use.
They are easy to install.

Adding a Twitter Logo to Your Blog or Website

Steps:
1. Sign-in to Your Google Blog
2. Go to 'Layouts.'
3. Select, 'Page Elements.'
4. Select, 'Add a Gadget.'
5. Select, 'HTML/JavaScript.'
6. Copy and Paste the HTML Code from the Blog Guy's Web Page at:

Google Blogging Tip # 72: Adding Twitter Post to a Website or Web Page

Q) You previously advised how to ADD Twitter Post to Blogs, but how do you add them to a Website or Web Page?

A) You can add your Twitter Post to any Website or Web Page in just a few simple easy steps.

Important - This Blogging Tip is also for all Myspace and Facebook users.

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Twitter Page.
2. You should be at 'Profile.' See picture below.
3. Select 'Settings.' 'Settings' will appear in the URL Address bar. See Picture below.
4. Page down to you see - 'More Info URL:'
Just below that you will see 'You can also add Twitter to your site here.' Click on that.
5. A new window appears. The URL Address shows googies/widgets.
On the page you will see Select Your Widget.
There will be three options -
Select Widgets for my 'Website.' If it doesn't automatically go to another window, click on 'My Website.' See picture below.
Important Note: For Facebook and MySpace users this is where you select the option here to add Twitter Post for your type of social networking blog page.
6. A final window will appear, the URL Address will be goodies/widgets_profile. In the box will be a JavaScript Code. Copy and Paste this code into your Website or Web Page between body and /body where you want the widget to appear.
See picture below.
This may take a few minutes for the connection to sync up and work so be patient.
Once it is working properly. Test it by simply posting a few Twitter Post to your Twitter Page. Then sign-out of Twitter and go to your Website Page and see how it looks.
Note: You can change the size and attributes of the JavaScript.

Q) Should I select the message Google has included in my Blog called 'Email Notifications ?'

A) It won't hurt anything if you do. It does NOT change anything on your BLOG or how it functions. It simply allows Google to send you Emails on issues Google thinks is important about Blogging. If you say yes, you can opt out of these emails by selecting 'Email Notifications' under Profile, and unchecking the box, then save your settings. You can also do the same to opt in to getting these email notifications by checking the box and save your settings.

Reference: Google Blogging Tip # 51: Setting Up Your Google Blog Gadgets, Part 21 - This Gadget allows people to SEARCH items within your Blog.

Q) I loaded the Google Blog / Site Search Gadget you provided on Tip # 51 but it only searches what's within my own Blog. Can you provide me with the code so people can SEARCH the Internet from within my Blog?

A) Yes, but I don't recommend this Gadget because anything that departs a viewer (visitor) from your Blog distracts them from your Blog, i.e. they probably wont return.
Note: This will appear on your Google Sidebar (column).

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Google Blog.
2. Select 'Layouts.'
3. Select 'Gadgets.'
4. Select 'JavaScript / HTML.'
5. Copy and Paste the code from The Blog Guy's Web Page.
6. Save, View Blog, go back make changes as desired.
7. Move the Gadget to the desired location.

Adding 'Reactions', a Google Blog Gadget

Currently Google is pushing this Gadget. Many have asked what is it?
'Reactions' is a way of RATING your Google Blog.
You can use the three ratings that Google has or change them to any you want.
Lets get started, here is how you set-up 'Reactions':

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Google Blog.
2. Select 'Layouts.'
3. Select 'Page Elements.'
4. Look for - Blog Posts, click on 'Edit.'
5. Check the Box next to 'Reactions.'
6. Select 'Edit' next to Reactions.
7. Use Google Default or Change to your own choices.
8. Save, View Blog, go back make changes as desired.
Note: This change will now appear on all Post, old, current, and new.

Once you Click on 'Edit' Blog Post, you get a pop-up window.

In the Pop-up Window, check the BOX next to 'Reactions', then click on Edit and change the choices to what you want.
When done, don't forget to SAVE your changes, and view your Blog.

Google Blogging Tip # 68: HTML Tip

Using an HTML Code for 'Spacing or Ending a Text.'

This is a simple HTML Code that really comes in handy.

Q) I have a website. I do a lot of TEXT posting and the sentences or paragraphs don't always appear as I would like them to when I publish the site to the Internet. What can I do to fix this?

A) There are a couple of alternatives but the simplest method is to use the 'break, space, or return function' It is one of the most often used HTML Code.

The Picture shows the HTML Code. It is NOT case sensitive.

Some uses are:
- Break a sentence or paragraph where you want and start a new line.
- Separate picture images.
- Increase the spacing between items such as paragraphs or links.
- For Blogs, many people don't like the way the post is so close to the comments, backlinks, etc. once the post is published. Using this simply technique will leave a space between the end of your post and the Blog's automated system postings.
Example, I will use it here and you can see that a space exists between the Post and the Labels.

Google Blogging Tip # 67: Viewing Colored Blog Templates in a White Background

Some visitors of Blogs and Websites do not like colored or dark backgrounds. This is how to 'View' this BLOG (http://blogsfollowme.blogspot.com) in a White Background.
First, if you have not downloaded Mozilla Firefox for either Windows or Apple iMAC, please do so.
Looking at the three pictures below, when you visit The Blog Guy's Blog (Blogs Follow Me at: http://blogsfollowme.blogspot.com) you will notice in FireFox one or two symbols to the right of the URL Address. One of these is the RSS Feed. As shown in the picture, click on it.

In most instances you will get two choices, as shown in this picture. Either one works. I would suggest using 'Subscribe to Blogs Follow Me - Atom' only because Google uses ATOM as an RSS Feed.
Note - You don't have to subscribe to anything or sign-up for anything to use this RSS Feed.

As shown in this picture, you get an RSS Feed of The Blog Guy's Blog - Blogs Follow Me.
This will always appear in a white background.
The only downside it is a summary and you still might have to use some of the main Blog Entry. But in most cases it will get you the latest Blogging or Website Trick, Hint, Tip, HTML Code, or JavaScript from The Blog Guy.

has only white backgrounds.
Important: Ignore the top portion where it indicates - 'Subscribe' this is not required to use the RSS Feed on FireFox within iMAC or Windows versions.

This technique will work on any Blog or Website that has an RSS Feed.

Several people emailed saying that it was difficult to copy The Blog Guy's list of backlinks from a Blog Post, and that once copied it resulted in a 'Non Clickable Link.'
Sometimes depending on your Browser Posts can be difficult to copy.

Google Blogging Tip # 64: Creating and Adding Backlinks, Part 2

This is Part 2 of 'Backlinks.'
As a quick reminder - 'Backlinks display other Web Pages, Websites, and Blogs that LINK to your Posts.
By now you should have modified your Google Blog Settings to accept 'Backlinks.' If you have not, go to Google Blogging Tip # 62 and complete that task now.
Why are we doing this?
Google Search Engine changes it's criteria on a regular basis for listing and ranking Websites, Web Pages, and Blogs. Recently it is believed by most Internet Gurus that Google is placing emphasis on 'Backlinks.'
Whether this is true or not, doesn't matter. Most Search Engines now use 'backlinks' as a measure of importance for listings and rankings.
The more backlinks you have within your Blog or Site the better.

So here is a good way to get BACKLINKS on your Blog.
Simply COPY and PASTE the following Backlinks onto your Site or Blog. Then add to the list your own 'backlinks.'
I have all ready added key LINKS of importance for search engines to recognize. All you have to do is ADD your 'backlinks' list and post it to your Blog or site. If you know anyone who has a Blog or website email your Post Link or Blog URL and ask them to ADD their site to the list. Please keep the existing LIST in tact and add to itt, that's what makes the backlinks work.
Yes this is like a Chain Letter you get in email, except this really works and is truly beneficial.

To create a 'Clickable' Backlink, use the following HTML Code for each Backlink you wish to ADD to the list.
Just replace the URL in RED with your complete URL.
Give it whatever 'Title' you wish, by changing the BLUE portion shown in the picture below:

Important Notes for Google Blog Users:

1/ It is not necessary that your backlink has a clickable URL, this doesn't matter to Search Engines, but it makes a LINK to your site or blog easier for visitors.

2/ You can simply add your BACKLINKS as a regular Post.

Google Blogging Tip # 63: Another Version of Google Translator, Setting Up Your Gadgets, Part 25

This 'Gadget' ADDS another Language Translator (converter) to your Blog.

I got several email asking if the Language Translator that uses 'Vertical Flags' could be Horizontal?
It can but not with the Text Language included, it just has the Flags, that is why I did not include it the first time.

Remember, this is a short version, it coverts only the main Languages in world. It is highly rated by language experts who claim it is the closest translator (language converter with the least number of errors).

Steps:
1. Copy the complete CODE in the box, found on my web page link below.
2. Sign-in to your Blog.
3. Select 'Layouts.'
4. Select 'Gadgets.'
5. Select 'HTML / JavaScript' or 'Bottom Gadget'.
6. Paste complete code.
7. Save, View Blog, Test, make changes as desired.

Important Blogger Tip: Adding 'Backlinks.'

First what are 'backlinks' and why are they important-
BackLinks are incoming LINKS to a Blog, Website or Web Page. In search engine optimization (SEO), the number of backlinks is one indication of the popularity or importance of that Blog, Website or Web Page (although other measures, such as PageRank, are likely to be more important). Outside of SEO, the backlinks of any site (Blog, Website or Web Page) may be of significant personal, cultural or semantic interest: they indicate who is paying attention to that page.
In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (Blog; Web Page; Directory; Website; or Domain) from another web node. Backlinks are also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links.

How do I ADD a 'backlink' to my Google Blog?

1. Sign-in to your Google blogspot Blog.
2. Select 'Settings.'
3. Select 'Comments.'
4. Page down till you find 'Backlinks'
5. Select 'Show.'
6. Next, Select 'Backlinks For Default Post', make sure 'New Post Have Backlinks' is selected.
7. Go to bottom of page, 'Save.'
8. View Blog .... under all your POSTS you should have where comments are -
'LINKS TO THIS POST.'

Google Blogging Tip # 61: HTML Code for Redirecting a Blog or Website

Q-1) How can I get my Website Page to 'Redirect' to my Blog?
Q-2) How can you use a Google Blog to forward it to a Website?

A) The answer to both questions is the same. Forwarding means to Re-Direct a 'Page' to another location.

Websites and Web Pages are the same. They are the easiest to do. The HTML Code is simply and works. The problem with Blogs and Social Networking Sites is you may not have access to change the HTML Coding. If there is no access you cannot do it. Google, however, allows their users to modify their HTML Coding.

Please go to The Blog Guy's Website Page to obtain the HTML Codes. Simply Copy and Paste the codes as instructed. There is a TEST so you can see how the Redirect (forwarding) works.

To Redirect a Google Blog to another Blog Location, Website, or Web Page, follow these instruction:
1. Sign in to your Blog
2. Go to Layout
3. Select 'Change' Templates.
4. Select the Blank Template, see picture below.
5. Go to 'Posting.'
6. Place a Title in the NEW Post, I suggest ...
Redirecting this BLOG
7. In the Post block - Put the TEXT ....
Line 1-You Are Being Redirected to:
Line 2-Complete URL Address (this is where the Blog is being sent to). Save, Publish, and View. See Picture Below.
8. Now go back to 'Layout.'
9. Select 'Edit HTML.'
10. Find the word /HEAD - just above that line put the first part of the HTML Code found on my web page link.
Important: Do Not Change or Delete anything from HEAD to /HEAD, only ADD the first part of the code. See Picture Below.
11. Now everything starting with and including the word BODY, delete down to /BODY and just above /BODY add the second part of the HTML Code from my Web Page Link. Save HTML Settings. See Picture Below.
12. View Blog, it should automatically Forward (REDIRECT) to the Site you chose.

IMPORTANT: When you Copy and Paste the Code, whether it be for a Website, Web Page, or Blog you must change the URL Address (location).
It is currently set to:
http://www.blogsfollowme.com/TEST.html

Change this to whatever site or blog you want. Remember to use the full URL Address.
A Personal Note: Most mistakes are made in typing. So be careful when typing your URL Address.

Q/ - I noticed on your Blog that some of the TEXT Lines where blinking. How do I add this feature?

Important Notation: This feature WILL WORK only in Firefox for Windows; Firefox for iMAC (Apple); and Windows XP.
It will NOT work in iMAC (Apple Safari); or Windows Vista.
However, where it does not work it simply appears as plain TEXT. So there is no harm in using the simple HTML Coding feature.

How to ADD a 'Sound File Clip' to Your Profile:

Steps:
1. Find a WAV (.wav) File Sound Clip you want to use.
2. You will need a source, if you do not a have a sound file storage source, you can upload your WAV File for FREE to The Blog Guy's Website by attaching the WAV (.wav) file to your email and sending it to me. Email your sound clip file to:

3. Sign-in to your Blog. You are at the 'Dashboard.
4. Select 'Edit Profile.'
5. Go to the line: Audio Clip URL - type in the complete URL Address. If you are using The Blog Guy's Storage the URL will look something like this:

6. Select 'Save' at the bottom of the page.
8. Go To: View Profile.
9. Turn up your speaker volume.
10. Click on 'Audio Clip.'

Note: You can change the sound file clip anytime you wish.

Q) Can you tell me how to get the World Greenhouse Clock Widget to install on my Blog, or can you find an alternative, I have looked.

A) This answer has three parts:
First: I have tested this both on Apple and Windows Vista. It requires an additional 3rd party software download that on Apple doesn't work. You should never download a Blog or Web Page Widget that doesn't display or work on the major computer browsers (Apple iMAC Safari, Firefox for Apple, Windows Vista, and Firefox for Windows).
Note: If you get a message that something requires a third party install to run a program or device, the only three that are safe to download are:
1/ - Adobe Acrobat, this reads .pdf files.
2/ - Macromedia Flash to play .swf and .flv flash files.
3/ - Flip for MAC including Windows for MAC

Second: I did send the bank a message informing them of the problem and suggesting that the widget be rewritten in a JavaScript format using Google's API for standardization.

Finally: I did find another Carbon base greenhouse counter. It is not nearly as aesthetic as the Bank Greenhouse Gas Clock, but it is easy to install and use.
Note: Maybe some college student or Green person will write a better Greenhouse Gas Clock in JavaScript. If they do I hope they send it to me so it can be shared by all my readers and supporters.

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Blog.
2. Select 'Layouts.'
3. Select 'Gadgets.'
4. Select 'HTML / JavaScript.'
5. Copy and Paste Code.
6. Change URL Address and mp3 Song.
7. Save, View Blog, make changes as needed including move snippet icon to desired location.

(A) Yes, Google makes one. The reason I selected the 'Flag' method (limited number of country languages, is that the complete translator is not 100 percent accurate.
Provided below, is a complete Language Translator by Google.

This 'Google Translator Gadget' is very easy to ADD to your Blog or Website.

Steps:

This 'Gadget' ADDS a 'Google's New Search Box' to your sidebar (column) of your Blog.

This NEW addition to Google's Gadgets allows a visitor to search your blog. Therefore, I personally recommend you add this somewhere to your Blog, preferably to the top of the sidebar! Because of the hundreds of LINKS on this Blog, this NEW Google Search Box will make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for.
--->I have added this 'Search Box' to Blogs Follow Me, in the upper portion of sidebar. You can see how it works by trying it out before adding one to your Blog.

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Blog.
2. Select 'Layouts.'
3. Select 'Gadgets.'
4. Select 'Search Box.'
5. Configure 'Search Box' to your needs.
6. Save, View Blog, make changes as needed.

Select 'Logo' Gadget, as shown in the picture:

You get a new Pop-up Window, 'Configure Search Box' , see pictures below:
Note: The more content you have on your Blog, the larger the 'Configure Search Box' window will be.

The second picture is of this BLOG, Blogs Follow Me, and you can see that Google has determined what is all ready on the Blog.

When your done setting up your 'Google Search Box' for your Blog it should look like this....

The searches within the Blog appear to the left, this will depend on which Blog template you use.

Now just click on, 'Humor, Jokes, and Funny Pictures.'
This brings up a drop down box under the Search List, which shows a LINK to Daily Jokes, the item searched for...Also, the Linked Item selected is now highlighted, in this case, in white (the highlighted color will vary and depend on your template background).

This 'Gadget' ADDS a 'Google Logo' to your sidebar (column).

I personally recommend you add this somewhere to your Blog! Google rumors have it that Google looks for this Logo as part of its criteria for adding your Blog to Google Blog Search Engines.

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Blog.
2. Select 'Layouts.'
3. Select 'Gadgets.'
4. Select 'Logo.'
5. Select which 'Logo' you want, this choice really depends more on your Template background color.
6. Save, View Blog, make a different selection if desired.

What many don't know is, if you CLICK on the Google Logo, it takes you to the Google Blog Sign-in page.

This 'Gadget' ADDS an 'RSS FEED' to your sidebar (column).

My personal comment - these really just distract from your Blog's content, offer no real value, and benefit a third party, mostly Google. There are some people that just like to clutter their Blog with all kinds of gadgets, so this is a good place to start.

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Blog.
2. Select 'Layouts.'
3. Select 'Gadgets.'
4. Select 'RSS Feed.'
5. Select by 'Blogger (in small blue text).'
6. Page through list, over 180, Select one.
7. Save, View Blog, Appear on sidebar, make another selection if desired.

Click on the Blue Text 'Blogger' to get a LIST of RSS Feeds available.

A New Pop-up Window will appear, Add a Gadget, Results.
Look to the upper left, their are choices for viewing, Google automatically defaults to the 'Most Popular.'
I picked, 'DAILY BUDDHA SAYINGS' which appears on the sidebar (column) of 'Testing Google Blogs.

I have updated Google Blogging Tip Number 45, Add Twitter to Your Google Blog.

Reason - Several people said the JavaScript, which was a BETA, was not working.
I investigated this and found that to be true.
I have redone Google Blog #45 with a NEW JavaScript and it should work without any further problems.
These BETA JavaScripts may have problems, they are caused by either Twitter or Google changing the criteria the code depends on.

Sorry, but this is out of my control.

This 'Gadget' ADDS a Language Translator (converter) to your Blog.
--->This Post has been updated, modified and changed to add two versions of this feature depending on your Blog's Template Background Color.

After I added my Language Translator to my Blog, see bottom of this Blog Page, I received several emails asking for the Code and why I picked this particular Gadget (there are many gadgets that perform the same function).

First this one is a short version, coverts the main Languages in world. It is highly rated by language experts who claim it is the closest translator (language converter with the least number of errors). Also many Gadgets only use a Country Flag, this one uses a Flag and Country Name.
Note: This particular Gadget style uses the Flags in a Vertical Format.

Steps:

Q) What's the difference between Google Friends Connect and Google Blog Following?
Q) I saw a website by Google with a YouTube Video explaining Google Friends Connect, picture enclosed. Why can't I get it to work for me on my Blog?

A) Google Friends Connect and Following are different. Google promised over a year ago to make this happen, in the most part we are still waiting for full integration.
Here is the short version of what's going on:
Google Friends Connect -
You can download 'Google Friends Connect' to your Website (webpage) or to most social networking sites, but not Twitter.
With 'Friends Connect' you can sign into your social networking account, such as Google, AIM, Yahoo, Open ID.
Once signed in, you can use your account to leave a message. Once the message is posted your ICON from that social network will appear, such as your Profile Image from your Google Blog.
As of this posting date, it will do what the image above shows, but it takes work to make it happen. Google sticks by it's statement, it's working on this issue.

Following -
Following is when you follow another Google Blogger. Your ICON appears on their Blog under 'Followers' automatically. The magic word being 'automatically.' When they 'Follow' you, their ICON appears on your Blog under the 'Followers Box' on your Blog, also automatically.
Note: This works the same on most Social Networks and Blogs such as Twitter.
Important: If you have a Google Blog, you have to activate this feature through 'Google Gadgets.' Newer Google Blogs place this feature on your Blog Template automatically, but if you have an older Blog or you removed this gadget feature you need to add it for this Gadget Feature to appear and work.

What was promised was...
That Google Friends Connect and Following would be one in the same - for the most part it is, but as I stated, it takes work to make it happen.
That if you had a Google Blog, your Google Followers would appear as they always did.
If you are logging on to Google from another Social Network such as MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter, AIM, etc. then that ICON would appear as 'Your Friends; see picture above. This happens only if you send an invitation to join 'Friends Connect' and the recipient party accepts the invitation. Then under 'Your Friends' on your Followers Box, their ICON will appear.

Google Blogging Tip # 47: Setting Up Your Google Blog Gadgets, Part 17

At the request of many readers, we are continuing 'Google Gadgets.' Yes, I will return to HTML Codes and JavaScripts for Blogs.

Adding 'Labels' to your Blog:
The primary purpose of this Gadget feature is to identify your various Google Posts, by categories. This is done by 'Labeling' each post at the bottom under 'Labels for this post.'
You can call your post anything you want.
In this case, this post has been labeled, 'Google Blogging Tips.'
The advantage of using this feature is that Google will sort all 'Posts' under this label. So when a visitor to your Blog wants to see everything you have written on a certain subject (topic) the 'Label Gadget' feature sorts all post, and list them in reverse chronological order (latest post first).
Some other features are:
1) - You can go back at anytime and add 'Labels' or change the title or move one label to another label just by changing the label title.
2) You can use multiple label titles. In other words you can have more than one label per post. This is useful if your post covers more than one subject matter.
Note: This feature should not be overused.
3) As a 'Gadget' you can move your 'Labels' anywhere you want by using your mouse in 'Layout' to position this Gadget feature in the sidebar (column).

Steps:
1. Sign-in to your Blog.
2. Select 'Posting.' Create a new Post and a new Label.
3. Go to 'Edit Post.' You will see a new column added that shows your Label. Also in green text, next too your post will have the 'Label Name' you created at the bottom of Posting.
4. Go to 'Layout.'
5. Select 'Gadgets.'
6. Select 'Labels'
7. Enter Title for 'Labels' and select type of sorting.
8. 'Save' changes.
9. Under Gadgets select 'Labels' by clicking with your mouse, hold down mouse button, drag and drop to desired sidebar location.
10. Save, View Blog, make changes as desired.

The picture below shows how a 'Label' was created for a post and where the 'Label' is placed.

The picture below shows a Blog's Posting History, under 'Edit Post.' It also shows a column to the left for all 'Labels Created' , and it shows next to each Post, the 'Label Name' assigned to that post.

The two pictures below show separate post. One has only one 'Label' and the other has two 'Labels.'

Under 'Labels' in Layout / Gadgets the picture below shows two options.
First - Determine 'Sorting' (position) by Alphabetical Order (recommended) or by Frequency (this rearranges the 'Labels' by name, according to the last posting).
Second - Give the 'Label Gadget' a 'Title.'
Don't for get to 'Save.'

How to ADD your FLASH Files to Your Google Blog using JavaScript / HTML Codes: Google Blogging Tip # 46

Adding FLASH Files (.swf / .flv format) to your blog can be frustration for many seeking how to do it.

1) FLASH Files (.swf / .flv format) cannot be uploaded through the normal add a 'Picture Image' -or- add a 'Movie', which most people have found out.
2) FLASH Files (.swf / .flv format) must have a designation or URL Address to be uploaded to a Google Blog.
3) So you will have to do some pre-work before adding any FLASH File to your Google Blog.

Here is what you need to do to get started:
1) - Identify the Flash (.swf / .flv format) file you want to use, copy them to your desktop.
Helpful Hint: There are FREE online websites that provide a variety of Flash Files (.swf / .flv format) for your use.
2) - You will need a 'Source' for your Flash File to work. Like animated files, you will need a complete URL Address for your Flash File to work as a JavaScript on Google blogspot Blogs.
Note: I searched the Internet and couldn't come up with a FREE service that allows Flash Files to be used and stored. Photobucket, which I use for my animation file storage, wants you to upgrade to a pay service to store and use 'Flash Files.'
Therefore, I created a Website, that I will allow FREE uploads for Flash Files in .swf file format only, maximum size 500 Kb. To see more on this FREE feature offered by me (blogsfollowme) see below.
If you have your own website or know someone who does, you can upload your Flash Files there. But you must have a 'Source' for Flash to work on Google Blogs.
3) - Upload your Flash Files (.swf format) to your host online website storage account, in this case, 'www.blogsfollowme.com.'
4) - Make sure the Flash File uploaded is working.
5) - Select the Flash File you desire to place on your Blog.
6) - Determine where your Flash File is to appear on your Blog: In the main Text as a POST; or on your side bar (column).
7) - Copy the .swf Flash embed code and paste it into one of the JavaScript Codes below.
8) - Now Copy and Paste the entire JavaScript / HTML Code to your Blog's desired location.
9) - View the Blog and make sure it is working.
Important: Your Flash File should be tested in at least two different browsers, like Firefox and Windows Internet Explorer.

This is a picture Image only, so you will have to carefully copy the entire HTML Code.
I recommend using a word type program like Word Pad, NeoOffice, Microsoft Word, etc.
After you copy the entire code, save it.
Now find your 'Source' for your Flash File. Remember, this must be a complete URL Address, see the 'BOLD' area in the picture. This is where you insert your URL and Flash File Name.
This 'Image' example is for a Flash File to be posted using your 'Posting' Feature on your Google Blog.
The size of the Flash File, also in 'BOLD' will fit any Google Blog Template. I recommend using this size format.

This is also a picture Image only, so you will have to carefully copy the entire HTML Code.
This is the same method as the one above but without a 'Title.'
These work well on Google's open format template, but I still recommend a 'Title.'

This 'Method' is for adding a Flash File to your Sidebar (column) on your Google Blog.
Note: The size of the Flash File has been reduced and should fit all Google templates. Adjust if necessary. Don't forget, the size has two locations in the embed code.

To get the name, go to the website page, find the picture of your Flash File, and use the name and code.

How to ADD your Twitter Page Posts to your Google Blog using JavaScript (HTML Codes): Google Blogging Tip # 45 (Modified)

This Google Blogging Tip has been upgraded, modified, and changed.

To ADD your Twitter Page Posts to your Google Blog follow these steps:

Step 1 - Go to the LINK below, fill in required fields.
Step 2 - Click on 'Customize' ; then 'Add Widget to My Blog.'
Step 3 - Follow the steps (see pictures below).
Step 4 - 'View' your BLOG. Your Twitter Page LAST posts should appear on on your Google 'Sidebar' (column) at the top.
Step 5 - Now open your Twitter Page (in a different Browser) and check to see that the posts that appear on you Google Blog match the last posts on your Twitter Page.
NOTE: This shows ONLY your Post on Twitter! It will NOT show any followers who posted to Twitter that appear on your page.
Step 6 - After you have confirmed Twitter is working on your Google Blog, Go to Layout, move Widget to desired location.

Sign-in to your blog.

This will move you to this Page.
Make sure your BLOG is shown in 'Select a Blog.'
Leave 'Title' BLANK!

How to create a 'Clickable EMAIL Link' on your Blog or Website using HTML Codes: Google Blogging Tip # 44

There can be some downsides to Creating a Clickable EMAIL Link:
The foremost and common problem encountered by visitors (users) of your Blog or Website is if the 'Clickable Email Link' doesn't work you won't know it, and they will just move on.
This problem is generally caused by the Visitor to your Blog or Web Page. In order for this to work for ANY Visitor they must have their Pop Email Server Set-up. So if your visitor hasn't set up their email server then this LINK wont work.
Email Pop Servers such as Out Look Express for Windows (all versions) generally wont allow FREE Email Links.
Example: If someone uses a Yahoo FREE Email Account as their email address, then pop servers probably wont work.
However, if they use their Internet Provider, such as Verizon or Comcast as their email provider then the 'Clickable Email Link' you have on your Blog or Web Page will work on Windows Computers.

I advise putting the following along with your clickable EMAIL Link, see example on Testing Google Blogs.

If the Clickable LINK doesn't work, please copy and paste the following email address:

The picture below gives you the HTML Code for creating a Link from your Blog or Website to Your EMAIL Account using a mouse.
Steps:
1) Type in any email address you want to receive the message.
2) Create ANYTHING you want it to say, most used phrase is – 'EMAIL ME', as shown in the example picture, but you can call it anything you want.
IMPORTANT: Some email providers BLOCK these types of emails. To be safe, and get your email, use either an email provided from your Internet Provider -or- a .com email address.
Yahoo was used an an example only. Yahoo may block your mail if you are using a FREE account.

Instructions:
1 - TEXT: Find this text in the HTML Code below: Welcome to Blogs Follow Me - Read the Google Blogging Tips and Improve Your Blog Layout and Performance. Show your support by Following this Blog.

--->Replace the TEXT with whatever you want it to say.

Helpful Hint: Keep the TEXT reasonable short, don't make it too long or no one will read it.

2 - Marguee Size: Find this HTML Code below: marquee width="99%" scrollamount="5" height="25"
adjust the code as desired.

Note: If your using a Google Blog I recommend width-99% and height remain at 25
If you are using a Web Page I recommend the width=95% or less depending on the location.

3 - Marquee Colors: Adjust these to whatever is desired. To get a complete list of HTML Color Code Attributes, go to my BLOG Page: HTML Color Chart for Blogs.

Helpful Hint: When in doubt, use Black for TEXT (font color) #000000 and White for Background (bgcolor) #FFFFFF
Play around with it till you get something you like that fits your overall Blog or Web Page Background.

4 - Changing Font Styles and Size: Aerial Black works well so does font size 1.
Helpful Hint: Later, I will be adding a Google Blogging Tip on how to use HTML Codes that you can use for changing Font Size and Types (styles).

5 - Remember, ALL characters and symbols must be in the correct position, so if you try this and it doesn't work, generally thats where the ERROR is!
